Cadence is a leading provider of EDA and semiconductor IP. Our custom/analog tools help engineers design the transistors, standard cells, and IP blocks that make up SoCs. Our digital tools automate the design and verification of giga-scale, giga-hertz SoCs at the latest semiconductor processing nodes. Our IC packaging and PCB tools permit the design of complete boards and subsystems.
Summary
Cadence’s is seeking a strong, high-energy and proactive communications director to create and drive strategic public relations campaigns that support the company’s corporate strategy and business goals. This position is highly visible both inside and outside the company and offers the opportunity to play a significant role in generating awareness for one of the industry’s leading technology companies. You should have existing relationships with industry press, bloggers, analysts and other influencers, maintain knowledge of Cadence’s core business as well as the broader EDA and semiconductor industries. You will be coordinating campaigns globally, so you must also be adaptable to working across time zones and cultures. You must be confident enough to debate, discuss and influence internal customers on new media strategies and process while partnering with business unit leaders to achieve their objectives. Your success will be measured by the impact and quality of press coverage, contribution to strategic, thought-leading program development and effective execution of both traditional and new media campaigns. This position will report directly to the group director of corporate communications.
Responsibilities
* Leading a team of public relations professionals responsible for implementing PR campaigns supporting Cadence’s corporate and product strategies * Lead development and program management of proactive (and reactive) integrated PR campaigns involving web content and other outreach materials * Develop effective and highly impactful public relations process and programs that generate awareness for the company and its product portfolio * Work closely with product marketing and campaign teams to develop press/analyst specific messages and positioning that result in maximal positive coverage * Determining opportunities for thought leadership via placed articles and proactive media outreach * Develop and review press materials including tactical plans, press releases, PowerPoint presentations, contributed articles and customer case studies * Media train corporate spokespersons, staff press briefings and be able to lead spokespersons towards appropriate messaging * Serve as a key Cadence company spokesperson * Mentor PR team members to continually raise the bar on effectiveness of programs
Ideal Candidate
* A minimum of 10 years of public relations and corporate communications experience is required, preferably inside a systems or semiconductor industry leader. Agency experience with semiconductor and systems industry companies is also highly valued. * Strategic mindset with capability to engage in business and marketing-related discussions with Cadence management, analysts and media, and to develop and implement comprehensive public relations plans. * Confidence to interact effectively and establish rapport with senior leaders, earning trust and respect. An effective team player who can participate and lead efforts across disciplines and functions. * Passion and ability to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and under tight deadlines. * Established relationships with journalists, particularly high-tech trade media, bloggers and business press. * Articulate, outgoing, a superb listener and verbal communicator. Must be a strong writer and copy editor, turning complex messages into short and concise text. * Results-oriented, with ability to develop and manage measurement metrics.
