Retail Product Training Specialist

Cabela's, the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, was born somewhat inadvertently in 1961 when Dick Cabela came up with a plan to sell fishing flies he purchased while at a furniture show in Chicago.

This position provides a legendary customer service experience for every customer by serving as a training mentor for departmental Outfitters. Responsible for educating Outfitters on all product information and selling techniques with a major focus on Cabela's Branded products. Assists Outfitters working with customers in finding and selecting products that best matches the customer needs based upon extensive study, field experience and guidance from corporate merchandising PODs. Teaches and informs Outfitters the proper use of products through demonstrations and communications. Will be responsible for communication weekly directives from corporate partners. Responsible for coaching or providing customer and Outfitter facing demonstrations. Will also represent Cabela's at off-site product demonstrations

* Teach and develop Outfitter skills as it relates to the use and selling of company products with a focus on Cabela's branded merchandise. Responsible for follow-up assessments of Outfitter retention of product knowledge and selling skills that they have coached. Ability to adjust training methods based upon evaluation and feedback from assessments * Help drive Cabela's brand product awareness inside and outside of the company. * Receive and communicate information and directives from corporate merchandising and training partners to Retail Outfitters. * Instruct and/or lead weekly/monthly product demonstrations to customers and Outfitters. * Partner with merchandising and training partners to identify future training needs. * Assist in-store training team with department specific training programs and roll-outs. * Demonstrate the ability to mentor Outfitters on speaking to product specifics, conducting proper customer interactions and resolving customer issues. * Other duties as assigned.

* High School Diploma or Equivalent * 0 to 2+ Years Experience * Hiring preference is given to those with solid sales and product experience. Preference towards field or product industry related experience. May be asked to travel approximately 0-25%.
