Database Developer

C.H. Robinson has embarked on an initiative to better execute corporate strategy using advanced Business Intelligence (BI). To take the Enterprise Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence to the next level of providing business value, we are looking for new team members to expand our technical expertise, and enhance our business and analytical skills. The position is also responsible for working with corporate data for decision making and strategy advancement with a primary focus on designing and implementing a new area of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Microsoft SSIS, SQL Server, and Analysis Services is the standard technology stack for creating this new segment, and other database artifacts. Prepared data will utilized by our business users to answer critical strategic questions and continuously enhance our trading partner reporting platforms.

* Database design and ETL development * Translate high-level requirements into detailed designs * Collaborate with other developers on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements * Perform unit testing and some functional testing * Collaborate with the business to understand and define solutions * Partner with the business to deliver high quality solutions

**Required Qualifications** * Minimum of 1 - 3 years of professional information systems experience with passion for data. * Minimum of 1 years of experience coding with Microsoft SSIS (or other ETL tool) to load a data warehouse. * Minimum of 1 years of experience coding with SQL Server. * Experience with software development and data quality best practices * Ability to produce design documentation * Ability to analyze data and produce solution proposals * Experience with Agile software development methodologies. * Proven interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization * Excellent written and verbal communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience in performance tuning in a SQL environment * Experience in Dimensional and Entity-Relational data modeling * Experience with design and development of Microsoft Analysis Services Tabular Cubes * Experience with application development coding (.Net) * Experience in transportation, logistics or supply chain management with multiple modes of transportation. * Experience working in a highly available environment a plus **Required Education** Undergraduate degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent work experience.
