Burton has played a pivotal role in growing snowboarding from a backyard hobby to a world-class sport by creating ground-breaking products, supporting a team of top snowboarders and pushing resorts to allow snowboarding.
Burton is looking for a Color/Production Designer to join our Bags and Luggage and Tees/Fleece creative team in Burlington, Vermont. The ideal candidate will be into camping, hiking & the outdoors, and be an avid snowboarder/skateboarder (or at least have a deep knowledge of & passion for snowboarding culture & skateboarding culture). This person must also be someone that loves to be up on street wear trends & be super detail oriented. If you have a passion for carry goods, lifestyle and outdoor accessories this could definitely be the job for you.
- Research the market and participate in building out seasonal concepts/themes with the Creative team
- Support the execution of seasonal product lines from concept to completion for the Bags and Essentials categories.
- Provide design / development and application of seasonal concepts, colors, color merchandising, materials, prints, and trims.
- Creating, updating & maintaining color roundups, tech packs and production files
- Preparing and maintaining creative collateral and color roundups for internal and external meetings and presentations
- Carefully reviewing all details on prototypes and have the ability to provide a clear point of view
- Collaborate with PLM and Development teams to ensure product execution matches brand vision and quality standards
- Have a degree in a related field and/or 1-3 years of industry experience
- Are passionate and have a strong point of view about Bags, Tees, and lifestyle accessories
- Have some knowledge (& point of view) of color, materials, trims and prints and their application to a variety of product
- Really love getting all the details just right
- Have a point of view on color merchandising - understands the creative aspects of merchandising and maintaining a brand relevant point of view.
- Can clearly communicate design intent visually and verbally
- Are EXCELLENT in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
- Able to create and update detailed tech packs and original product line drawings
- Know how to work collaboratively with other Designers on the Creative team, Developers, and Product Line Managers
- Are agile & flexible, and able to find creative solutions to roadblocks in the design process or course correct if there are changes to the line mid-season -“Get” the Burton brand (brand objectives & design aesthetic)
- Are a team player and excel in a collaborative team-based environment
- Know how to manage your time effectively - and juggle shifting priorities and multiple projects
