Summary
Ensure reliable operation of Headend/Hub platforms by implementing, maintaining, and repairing. Headend/Hub deployed equipment.
Responsibilities
* Perform quality control checks. Maintain and repair Headend/Hub equipment, CPE test beds, TVRO earth station antennas and fiber optic distribution equipment * Perform Headend/Hub equipment configuration, FCC performance tests and field system performance tests * Coordinates inventory and documents maintenance records on equipment and facilities * Ensure compliance of CLI monitoring requirements in the Headend/Hub, through detection and repair * Recognize, practice and enforce safety rules and procedures when performing technical tasks * Supports management goals and objectives; promotes teamwork within the department and company * Stand-by duties during non-business hours; Respond quickly to network and field ops events * Work in various assigned locations and areas on a daily basis * Takes part in and supports all change management, event management, communication, documentation, standards, training and work flow processes * Performs and documents all preventative maintenance tasks * Ability to work with contractors, vendors, committees and cross domain departments to achieve Headend Operations objectives * Proficient with hand tools, telecommunications test equipment, power and fiber instruments * Assist with special projects and performs other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * High school diploma or equivalent is required * Formal electronics training and/or self study course work in telecommunications is strongly preferred * Must have completed Electronic Engineering Technology or Telecommunications Technology (Optic Transport, Network, and Video Distribution Architectures) course work with a two-year technical school, certification entity (NCTI, SCTE, Cisco Etc…) or equivalent work experience **Work Experience:** * Requires minimum of one year of telecommunications systems implementation, maintenance, and repair experience * Fiber optic experience preferred *** SPECIAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:** * Proficiency with various platform element management applications, ticket systems * Ability to solve and repair technical problems with customers through effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications * Working knowledge of signal levels, meters, volt-ohm meters; sweep systems, amplifiers, power supplies, DVM, VOM, signal leakage, detection equipment, spectrum analyzer, waveform monitor and various other troubleshooting devices * Possess a mechanical aptitude supporting the functional operations of ATS, Camlocks, Generators, Trailers, and HVAC systems * Able to use operations applications such as MS Office Professional Suite, OSS/Element Management, Ticket System, Web Based Clients, Test Equipment and Facility applications * Work with, support, and repair UPS, DC, AC, Inverter, and distribution systems * First aid and CPR certification is desired * Must have valid Florida driver’s license, as well as good driving record * Ability to learn our Division Network Operations and Techniques
