Summary
The Communications Associate/Graphic Designer will join a team working to refine the way Bridgewater communicates its brand. This person will 1) apply design capabilities towards branded communication projects, 2) provide project management for the team’s many critical projects and 3) act as a creative advisor and project owner for internal clients and their communications needs. The role will require traditional visual design training and skills (Adobe Creative Suite, in particular) along with an eagerness to manage the team’s larger projects to ensure they are progressing smoothly. Our projects include anything from re-designing our corporate homepage, evolving our brand style guide, to creating our annual holiday card or producing original video content. We’re looking for someone with a lot of energy who can channel an imaginative mind towards the expression of a single brand, and who can keep the trains running on time. This role is great for someone who is eager to refine his/her creative skills while also learning how to navigate to project success within a larger company.
Responsibilities
* Apply visual design capabilities to create branded print and digital communications as commissioned by internal clients. Develop creative expressions of the brand while also adhering to the company’s visual standards. Projects may include branded merchandise, internal communications, visual treatments for Web portals, or a suite of printed material for special events. * Provide project management for the team’s most critical initiatives. Visualize the small and big things that will contribute to success and hold teammates accountable to actions and deadlines. This work will include: project planning and management, keeping the team organized and working on the highest priority projects, acting as the front-line communicator with internal clients, and managing vendor relationships including contracts and invoicing. * Act as advisor and project owner to internal clients for their small-scale brand communication projects. Help them formulate a vision that achieves their goals while delivering Bridgewater’s brand with authenticity and impact.
Ideal Candidate
* 2+ years of hands-on experience designing high quality visual communications, preferably at a creative agency * Command of Adobe Creative Suite * Understanding of visual identity and brand applications, up-to-date knowledge of industry trends * Ability to deliver creative, imaginative ideas but also translate them through brand guidelines * Excellent communication skills – ability to express clearly through writing, visual media and story telling * Basic project management skills, an ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented and disciplined * Understanding of general budget management, keeping projects on time and on cost * Ability to build relationships, understand client vision, and present design options in a systematic way
