Summary
Job Description: Secure press coverage and manage content plan of well curated, highly engaging and shareable copy, video, and other content that helps meet Bravo! Vail’s mission, vision, and marketing objectives, including driving attendance and engagement, cross and up-selling, building interest in and knowledge of classical music, and raising awareness of Bravo! Vail. A successful Content & Communications Manager will strive for collaboration and communication interdepartmentally and throughout the organization regarding new content initiatives, and will have a strong customer service mentality inside the organization as well as to outside vendors, media, and partners. The individual will be an excellent writer and a natural story-teller with a passion for classical music and the mission of Bravo! Vail. Both creative and pragmatic, the Manager will have a strong ability to continually brainstorm new angles and ideas for content and publicity
Responsibilities
Duties Include: * Develop and maintain shareable “editorial calendar” of engaging content throughout the year * Identify regular new content opportunities in addition to repurposing existing content * Pay attention to and leverage news, events, and trends in music, the community, and popular culture by always asking the question “How can I connect this to music, the community, and/or Bravo! Vail?” * Develop and maintain editorial style guide with clear guidelines for tone and brand standards * * Develop annual press plan * Research press outlets and pitch stories to media * Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets * Track and report on media coverage * Create press releases, press kits, and other media materials * Maintain and manage press lists * Coordinate media coverage during the festival * Collaborate and coordinate with PR and marketing teams at orchestra partners to maximize media coverage and content * Research, write, edit, and proofread marketing and fundraising copy, including website copy, blog posts, promotional copy (ie: emails, brochures), letters, and video scripts. * Develop and communicate talking points for Executive Director and Artistic Director to use at Bravo! Vail events as well as for other staff speaking opportunities * Act as program book copy editor, and create engaging content for book performance pages * Participate in season launch content, including writing season press release and brochure and web copy, preparing website for launch, and developing multiple length versions of boilerplate copy for staff use * Work with photographers, filmmakers, and videographers to capture assets and create visual content * Collaborate with marketing manager and marketing associate to develop engaging content for social media and digital initiatives * Work with marketing team to conduct regular reviews of content effectiveness in order to continually evolve and improve content initiatives * Keep current with content marketing best practices. * Perform other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree required; English, Journalism, Writing, Public Relations, or other communications field preferred * Minimum of 2 years of marketing, PR, or writing experience, preferably in a content marketing or publicist role * Excellent writer * An experienced storyteller with excellent communication skills * Skilled at developing both short and long-form content * Strong research skills * Knowledge of classical music * Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects at once, and respond to changing and new projects and priorities with grace and confidence * Positive attitude, poise, and flexibility in a dynamic work environment * Previous experience with content production a big plus * Ability to think like a journalist * 100% commitment during festival dates (typically late June through early August), including working evenings and weekends How to Apply: Email resume and cover letter to info@bravovail.org, with subject line: Content Manager Position.
