Summary
Reporting into the Head of Marketing, the Head of Product Marketing is responsible for leading this newly expanded global function at Braintree. We’re looking for someone to pave the way by taking the team to new heights as we continue to scale our products, ideally someone with seasoned industry experience in payments, commerce or financial technology and/or comes from a highly matrixed, innovative company. This person should thrive in an agile and cross functional environment and is ready to own the entire marketing lifecycle of our products.In addition, this role will be directly responsible for Braintree’s strategic product & partnership initiatives, discovery of the latest industry trends and opportunities to elevate our platform and test new offerings into the market.
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of seasoned product marketers, support, coach and unblock any obstacles they may face to set them up for success * Lead all inbound and outbound marketing efforts for the product portfolio - that means you’ll be the subject matter expert on the customer, the product and the category * Work closely with product teams for a comprehensive understanding of the offerings and contribute to and keep track of their evolution (most especially for early stage products) * Deliver actionable insights using first and third party research, data, competitive insights and market segmentation to shape the product roadmap and meet business goals * Develop the product positioning, product naming and partner with Content Strategist to deliver world-class messaging * Work with design team, business development and external agency to develop creative assets to support product portfolio including website, videos, training tools, sales collateral, case studies and more. * Drive the entire go-to-market process, with you at the center of all cross-functional, international, internal & external stakeholders * Key liaison for PayPal global product marketing & partnership organizations, ensuring consistent, clear communication and a collaborative spirit * Monitor competitors, industry shifts, emerging markets and the category overall to stay up to date, drive future growth and synthesize findings across team * Be the products’ brand advocate and key spokesperson, ensuring consistency across every internal & external touchpoint * Sustain the product by identifying optimization opportunities by investigating unmet needs and understanding customer satisfaction to ensure healthy lifecycle
Ideal Candidate
* 10+ years of experience in product marketing and/or product management at fast growing companies * Experience managing team * Proven track record in developing and executing marketing plans that drive results * Demonstrate ability to work cross-functionally and successfully across a highly matrixed, fast-paced environment * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be persuasive, influential, and affect change is essential for success * Past experience and desire to work with complex product solutions; industry experience in either payments, commerce or financial technology is preferred * Incredible attention to detail and organizational skills * 10-20% travel between corporate locations (SF<>CHI) * Outstanding follow-through and self-starting attitude
