Summary
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Marketing, the Creative Services Manager will lead the in-house Creative Services team to develop compelling marketing materials to support Marketing, Advertising, and Sales objectives. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the visual representation of the Boar’s Head Brand by maintaining and consistently upholding all standards of brand identity.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the introduction and development of new, innovative designs to increase the power of the Brand as well as improve existing methods. This is achieved through systematic, creative consideration with key interest in the protection of the Boar’s Head Brand, and a central focus on increasing its sales and serving its customers. - Develop long-term creative direction for the Brand based on competition, market, and category trends and Marketing and Sales goals. - Act in an instructional and supervisory capacity for the Creative Services team with regard to the conceptual design, typography, layout, and color selection. - Responsible for all creative aspects of design and print production produced by the Creative Services department within the established timelines. - Oversee creative development and execution of all projects with the Advertising Manager and outside advertising agency. - Define the roles and responsibilities of all Creative Services personnel in order to consistently produce all levels of creative work. - Review all final creative and be responsible for the accuracy of all art files. - Supervise and develop signage systems for all retail formats. - Define and maintain conceptual direction for label and packaging projects across all categories including new products, and determine rollout schedules. - Maintain a workflow system that increases work volume and production speed. - Annually, establish Creative Services operating budget. - Develop a thorough understanding of all retail partners, including their design standards and requirements, key personnel, and relationships with Boar’s Head Marketing and Sales Management. - Mentor, teach, and present design information to internal disciplines, Distributors, and retail partners. - Conduct annual reviews of all print vendors to examine business relationships, the delivery of expectations, re-quote standard projects, and determine need for additional vendors.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphics Design, Advertising Design or related, or knowledge equivalent to such degree - Seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in a variety of Graphic Design styles including flexographic packaging, signage, advertising, internet and websites, point of purchase, displays and merchandising, audio and video presentations, screen and embroidery printing, and offset printing, with a minimum of five (5) years in a supervisory role for at least three (3) to five (5) employees.
