The Blount family has been in the food business since 1880. Our product Line includes refrigerated and frozen gourmet soups, side dishes and entrees for food service and retail. The Company, headquartered in Fall River, MA, is the largest producer of clam chowder in New England and the largest manufacturer of Lobster bisque in the country.

To plan, coordinate and manage all activities related to the purchasing and receipt of assigned items and assist with the purchase of other items as needed. The position interfaces with Sales, Marketing, Production, QA, Product Development, Accounting, Logistics and Senior Management.

* Negotiates and purchase all Ingredient and Plant Supply items for Div 3. * Researches new items for R+D. Provide samples as needed and provide feedback on those samples with suppliers in a timely manner. * Maintains adequate inventory levels and ensures PO’s are issued to support forecasts. Maintain good communication of PO’s status with supplier until delivery of product. * Prepares reports of inventory turns and subsequent inventory levels. * Takes leadership role in SQF documentation while serving on the SQF Core Team. * Maintains a vendor rating scorecard with KPI’s as chosen by Purchasing which includes a quarterly report card to 25 vendors. * Performs duties in an ethical manner. * Travel as necessary. * Communicates with all levels of internal and external customers. * Takes a lead role in Specification policy maintenance. * Maintains a successful Production supplies program. * Participates in corporate bonus program. * Complies with Safety Policies.

**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations** This position requires a valid drivers license, pre-employment and annual screening of Motor Vehicle record and personal automobile insurance coverage in accordance with the Blount Fine Foods employee Handbook. **Education and/or Experience** Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of both education and experience. Food Manufacturing experience required.
