Senior Network Engineer

Bloomberg, the global business and financial information and news leader, gives influential decision makers a critical edge by connecting them to a dynamic network of information, people and ideas.

The successful candidate must possess extensive networking knowledge, experience, creativity, and capability to work in a complex and fast paced network technology environment. The candidate will work closely with network operation groups to provide technical assistance and support. They will also work directly with vendors to drive feature enhancements to meet business needs. The ideal candidate must have the ability to think innovatively and drive relevant strategic solutions in a complex environment. Our team is looking for an independent, self-starter who is also an enthusiastic team player.

• Design, engineer, develop, and deploy network infrastructure in the WAN
• Work cross functionally with a variety of other teams to maintain our global network.
• Provide escalated support and troubleshooting to maintain high availability and performance of the network
• Create and maintain clear and accurate network documentation
• Develop network and processes conform to approved standards

• Education: BS/MS is a must; (CS/EE , JNCIE or CCIE preferred)
• 7+ years of network design and engineering experience on an advanced network
• Extensive experience with large L3/L2 network design and development
• Must have demonstrated proficiency with IOS, JunOS and hardware
• Demonstrated expertise with routing and switching concepts and technology
• Demonstrated expertise with rapid network troubleshooting and repair skills
• Demonstrated experience with BGP, OSPF, IGMP, PIM & RSTP/MSTP, MPBGP, MPLS, VPLS, BGP/MPLS IPVPN
• Demonstrated programming experience with Perl and Python
• Demonstrated experience with QoS and queuing theory
• Strong prior experience with documentation and Visio schematics
• Prior demonstrated experience working collaboratively with NOCs, systems software developers and administrators
