Developer Experience Engineer

The Role: The Bloomberg Developer Experience team is looking for talented and enthusiastic developers who can work collaboratively to improve developer productivity, code quality, and enthusiasm with advanced tools and automation. The ideal candidate has experience creating and maintaining software development pipelines in a Unix environment, a strong understanding of C / C++ compilers and toolchains, the willingness to dive in to unfamiliar code, and the creativity to plan seamless rollouts of complex deliverables.

Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and deliver software for build, test, and deployment automation - Drive multi-team, codebase-wide porting, code quality improvement and cleanup initiatives through automated tools, reports, and developer education - Keep current with industry best-practices for software development and adapt tools for use at Bloomberg - Troubleshoot and resolve complex software integration issues

Qualifications: * Strong understanding of C / C++ compilers and development toolchains * 3+ years experience working in a Linux / Unix command line environment * 3+ years experience working with git * 3+ years experience with authoring build systems in GNU Make and/or CMake * 3+ years experience with Python or Perl
