Bloomberg is seeking an analyst in our New York newsroom to research and analyze data for rankings and infographics that appear on Bloomberg's terminal, web, and media platforms.

* This analyst will work closely with other analysts, reporters, writers, editors, designers, and coders to create lists and rankings, data-driven visual stories, interactive maps, and static graphics on a wide variety of subjects. * Analysts participate in all aspects of the graphic-creation process: pitching ideas, collecting, analyzing, and verifying data from outside sources and Bloomberg terminal functions, and collaborating with designers to turn data into visualizations.

* Proficiency with the Bloomberg terminal is required. * Promising applicants will have strong research and mathematical skills, sound editorial judgment, knowledge of finance and business, and an entrepreneurial spirit. * Collaboration is a hallmark of the team. * All members are expected to seek the input of colleagues and view constructive criticism as a way to improve their work. * Time-management skills are critical. * Our team works in a newsroom and under deadline. * Promising candidates will be comfortable responding quickly to breaking news and working on longer-term assignments. * Whatever the project, a passion for journalism and data is essential.
