As a software engineer in CFA, you will be responsible for the full development life cycle of key projects. Derivatives & Cross Asset The Derivatives & Cross Asset group is one of the fastest growing in both CFA and Bloomberg. We deal with analytics required by a variety of trading, risk management and regulatory reporting applications. The front, middle and back offices of major financial institutions involved in the USD 700 trillion derivatives industry use our products to make sense of the complexity, risks, pitfalls and regulations surrounding these financial instruments. Our derivatives teams meet these challenges by offering a one-stop solution that brings transparency, efficiency and excellence to market professionals. Fixed Income Pricing The Fixed Income (FI) Pricing group builds a product that is the market standard for pricing and provides up to date and accurate information to the global financial community. We are focused on building low latency, high throughput systems that employ advanced statistical techniques for generating real-time and accurate pricing information. FI Pricing also builds analytics products that revolutionize the fixed income market place. Our application suite includes high precision pricing algorithms, accurate end-of-day price generation systems, liquidity hubs for storing and retrieving pricing information, sophisticated user interfaces and big data analytics platforms. These products are extensively used by various market players such as portfolio managers, risk officers, analysts and traders. Foreign Exchange The Foreign Exchange (FX) group provides market leading analytic functionality and award-winning currency pricing and data. Because FX trades are over the counter (bank to bank; not traded in exchanges), it is important for traders to have transparency into market prices. Our tools provide this service in real-time and allow users to perform analytics on foreign exchange forward instruments. We develop high visibility applications for FX valuation, idea generation and price discovery workflows, as well as high volume real-time pricing engines. Commodities The Commodities group builds products that offer transparency in supply, demand, and pricing of oil, power, natural gas, metals and agricultural goods. We build systems and functionality to house everything from hourly power transmission rates to 15-minute updates on ship movements. Another aspect of this group is to track and manage the lifecycle of millions of futures and options securities across 100+ exchanges around the world. Our futures and options product makes discoverability of such securities easy, which proves to be very important for our clients in a dynamic environment. Economics The Economics group puts the fundamentals of our economy in front of hundreds of thousands of clients every day. We develop the tools that manage real-time releases of economic statistics coming from governments around the world. We also develop analytics and visualizations of economic data to help users better understand the underpinnings of our financial system. Equity The Equity group's product is used by over 100,000 financial professionals worldwide to make investment decisions aimed at increasing alpha. This functionality is among the most used across the Bloomberg terminal and is invaluable to clients. The product allows for clear understanding of vast global data sets spanning 30+ years, big data analytics, real-time alerting and complex financial data. We build applications for discovering and analyzing market trends, aggregating and evaluating analyst predictions, and screening and back-testing investment ideas. Fixed Income Core The Fixed Income Core group develops software to support analytics and data that move global fixed income markets. We cover government, corporate, money market, municipal and preferred instruments. Our applications are used a million times a day and our APIs are invoked billions of times a day.
