Summary
Blizzard Entertainment’s creative development department is looking to bolster their team with a new sculptor. The desired candidate needs to have a combination of traditional and digital skills in creating highly detailed models. You will team up with our sculpting director and other team members to produce an array of products with the high quality and precision all Blizzard properties are known for. We need your help to bring our characters and props to life: fantastical art pieces that embrace the often realistic or surreal artistic style of our video game properties. If you have a strong passion for building 3D product, and come from a background of using traditional wax and clay, and have a working knowledge of digital sculpting programs like Zbrush, Rhino or Mudbox, then this could be the perfect role for you.
Responsibilities
* Create highly detailed statues, toys, props, and other product from Blizzard games. * Take ownership of a project from start to finish. * Work with art directors from each IP to fully capture the vision and detail needed to convey their property’s story, emotion, and scale. * Give and receive feedback when translating 2D art into 3D models. * Work with licensing to help clean up or fine tune outside projects. * Maintain positive working relationships with art teams and art directors. * Manage time and projects to ensure on time deliveries.
Ideal Candidate
**REQUIREMENTS** * A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a commercial sculptor, preferably with both digital and traditional experience * Zbrush knowledge and skills * Capable of producing sculptures with extreme detail * Able to collaborate and “tag team” projects that are under tight deadlines * Able to take critiques at any stage in the sculpting process * Have a positive attitude, open minded, and trustworthy * Demonstrated experience providing solid input and embracing problem solving while working with other teams towards creative solutions that will speed up production while maintaining integrity and creativity **PLUSES** * Experience molding / casting and prototype cleanup * Experience with 3D printing * Advanced Zbrush skills * Basic Maya knowledge and skills * Magics, Solidworks , Rhino, or Autocad skills
