Summary
Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an exceptional Player Behavior Research Scientist to join our Global Insights team. Our ideal candidate has experience performing user-group research and sharing those insights with others. You should be passionate & excited about diving into ever-growing oceans of data to support the development of the Blizzard-quality experiences that our players deserve, and partnering with the dozens of analysts, data scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to create and conduct studies that provide qualitative and quantitative insights that inform decisions to make our game worlds come to life.
Responsibilities
* Create and conduct research studies and surveys to explore player behavior and provide insights into what makes their experiences satisfying (or dissatisfying). * Challenge the team’s assumptions and inform decisions with strategic insights * Build a consistent understanding of player interaction that can be used to benefit ongoing and future game development * Share your insights with stakeholders across multiple teams and disciplines * Support the development of player behavior features with the goal of improving overall player experience. * Stay abreast of global video game industry trends and proactively consider implications for Blizzard
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements** * Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field * A minimum of 5 years of experience in applied or experimental research * Experience partnering with engineering and/or software/game development teams * Fluent with common methods in inferential statistic and accompanying software * Ability to independently write SQL queries **Pluses** * Passionate gamer with in-depth knowledge of Blizzard games, products and services * Experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools * Experience in R, Python, or MATLAB
