Summary
**Bleacher Report, 2nd largest sports website and home of the most minutes/users among sports apps in the U.S. (comScore), is seeking a Software Engineer/DevOps.** We’re looking for someone who can both develop code as well as manage servers. This person should think of infrastructure as code.
Responsibilities
* Write software to help automate and manage the server clusters. * Build servers in a programmable fashion. * Use Amazon EC2 Infrastructure: CloudFormation, EC2, Route53, Autoscaling, CloudWatch, Elastic Beanstalk. * Docker experience or willingness to learn. * Knowledge of chef. * Set up fault tolerant servers and geographical redundancy. * Working closely with the Development and QA teams on architecture and technologies. * Create archival, backup and recovery processes. * Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills. * Write scripts in bash, ruby or any other language to manage and monitor different levels of the server stack: process monitoring, memory monitoring, disk usage, uptime monitoring. * Honesty, friendly attitude, and good sense of humor.
Ideal Candidate
* B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent experience). * 2+ years experience with Linux OS: Gentoo/Ubuntu/Debian. * 2+ years supporting public or private cloud technology. * Experience with MySQL. * Setting up mysql replication * Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills for the Linux platforms. * Experience with Administering and Deploying Rails and Memcache (or similar technology). * Experience with Administering Amazon EC2 clusters. * Security experience and hands-on knowledge for hardening systems. * Strong Unix skills and the ability to script in bash, ruby or other code base is desirable.
