Bleacher Report, 2nd largest sports website and home of the most minutes/users among sports apps in the U.S. (comScore), is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can both develop code as well as manage servers. This person should think of infrastructure as code. We have a small team and looking to add an experienced individual who can also step into the role of mentoring.
- You will write software to help automate and manage the server clusters
- You will build servers in a programmable fashion
- You will have daily usage of Amazon Web Services: CloudFormation, EC2, Route53, Autoscaling, CloudWatch, Elastic Beanstalk
- You will set up fault tolerant servers and geographical redundancy
- You will work closely with the Development and QA teams on architecture and technologies
- You will create archival, backup and recovery processes
- You will write scripts in bash, Golang or any other language to manage and monitor different levels of the server stack: process monitoring, memory monitoring, disk usage, uptime monitoring.
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 6+ years experience with Linux OS: Gentoo/Ubuntu/Debian
- 6+ years supporting public or private cloud technology
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills for the Linux platforms
- Must have minimum 2+ years of experience working with AWS
- Have the attitude that it's in your nature to solve problems with code vs. by hand
- Security experience and hands-on knowledge for hardening systems
- Strong Unix skills and the ability to script in bash, Golang or other code base is desirable
