Summary
This position is for a Developer who is able to leverage his/her Java expertise and next-gen technologies to build out systems for Business Operations. The role has a wide scope which includes building out new systems/products in Aladdin and enhancing the capabilities of our existing solutions. A successful candidate is expected to create and deliver software, have responsibility to execute projects from start to finish, and work independently or with a project team.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality solutions that address business needs in ways of new ground-breaking industry-leading applications * Provide ongoing support and development maintenance of existing application functionality * Working closely with senior members of the team, end users and client support teams to provide support and better understand user requests * Partner with end-users and client services staff in the rollout of the new business functionality * Develop an increasing understanding of technologies and architectures, including enterprise architecture, design and implementation, software design and deployment best practices
Ideal Candidate
* 3 years of strong experience in core Java and related technologies in a Unix/Linux environment * 3 years of experience in Systems analysis, design, development, testing and support * Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented design concepts and Design Patterns * Proficient with relational databases / SQL development (stored procedures, data modeling, etc.) * Very good understanding of XML/XSD and other schema driven data * Good Linux/Unix skills with experience in shell scripting * Strong communication skills * Excellent analytical/problem solving skills * Strong team player with good interpersonal skills * Perl, Python, Mongo/big data/No SQL are a plus * Knowledge of SPA technologies (AngularJS) is a plus * Experience in the finance industry or knowledge of financial products is a plus * Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent
