Director of Engineering

The aim of Bitnami is to simplify the deployment of web applications, such as wikis or blogs, in order to make them more accessible. There are a lot of high quality open source software packages that aren’t used as much as they could be because getting them up and running can be a complex process. We want to change that!

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Engineering, based in our San Francisco office. This position reports to the CEO and technical founder. The ideal candidate has a systems and web development background that comes from practical experience; a broad perspective of the cloud industry and where it is headed; and experience in building solutions that scale.

• Has exceptional people skills and a proven-track record building high-performance software engineering teams
• Understands how to inspire and coach a technical team from senior engineers to new college graduates
• Works directly with other business functions to set priorities and goals
• Is comfortable working within a fast-paced, engineering-led culture that values both execution and technical excellence
• Communicates persuasively and effectively to influence company strategy at the highest level

• MS Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• 10+ years experience in software engineering
• 5+ years in engineering leadership roles
• Start-up or infrastructure-related experience preferred
• Position is based in San Francisco, US. Relocation available
