Senior Public Relation Associate

Founded in 2010, we redefined the way people shop for beauty and grooming by pairing a monthly delivery of personalized samples with original content and a robust e-commerce shop. We partner with the best brands in the industry, from mainstream favorites to niche up-and-comers, and use a proprietary algorithm to send the right products to the right people, based on their profiles and preferences.

Birchbox is looking for someone remarkable to help communicate our brand to the world. As the Senior PR Associate, you’ll be part of the overall Marketing team and will report to the Director of PR. You will be responsible for planning and executing strategic, creative press initiatives that build awareness of our brand and generate meaningful coverage for all areas of our business, including the women’s subscription, BirchboxMan, priority brand partners, our in-house brands, our Soho store and partnerships/campaigns.

* Pitch print, online and TV outlets; build and maintain relationships with key editors while effectively communicating Birchbox’s value proposition and unique beauty perspective * Help plan the PR strategy for new launches and campaigns * Develop press materials, including fact sheets, messaging, executive briefing documents and press releases * Project-manage special initiatives * Conceptualize, plan and execute events (press events, store events, larger activations, etc.) * Manage consumer PR agency, an intern and vendor relationships * Work closely with merchant, social media, creative and acquisition teams * Oversee coverage tracking and results reporting * Maintain the PR sample closet, including ordering monthly boxes and full-size products

* 2-3 years years experience in PR, at an agency or in-house at a brand * Excellent writing skills * Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment * Always on top of the latest trends in culture, media, retail, tech, fashion and beauty * A self-starter and strong collaborator * Creativity, enthusiasm and positive attitude * Organized and detail-oriented
