Birchbox is looking for a creative Video Editor to join our lean Social Media & Content team. This role will be responsible for shepherding videos (primarily beauty tutorials) from the concept stage through production and post-production. In addition to video content creation for Birchbox.com, Birchbox’s Facebook Page, Instagram, and YouTube, this team member will also create daily and weekly content for Birchbox’s Snapchat and Instagram Stories channels. This role will have the opportunity to contribute to the brand’s video strategy and visual identity and will report to the Senior Manager of Social Media & Content and our in house photo team.

* Film and edit short form video * Pitch ideas for one-off videos and video series, including live video, on a weekly and monthly basis * Create storyboards and write scripts for videos * Maintain brand’s visual standards while pushing the creative envelope * Create video graphics in partnership with our graphic design team * Pitch and manage weekly Snapchat and Instagram Stories content

* 2 -3 years professional experience, preferably for a digital media company * Degree in film production or equivalent experience filming professional level videos * Expert editing ability within Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro * Experienced with DSLR Filmmaking, Sound Recording and Lighting * Interest in beauty (you’ll be writing and creating makeup and hair tutorials) * Knowledgeable about social media trends and social video trends * Ability to be flexible and work quickly in a deadline driven environment * Willingness to test and fail quickly * Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects experience a big plus
