Summary
Biogen is seeking an experienced Ph.D. level scientist with expertise in antibody display technologies, antibody engineering, and in vivo antibody generation. In this role, you will interact with multidisciplinary project teams focused on developing therapies for neurology, neuroimmunology, chronic pain, and rare diseases
Responsibilities
The position will require design and use of antibody display libraries as well as immunization approaches to identify therapeutic candidates. In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to explore underlying fundamentals of protein structure-function relationships and protein-protein interactions in modulating pathways of therapeutic interest, using your skills in antibody discovery and engineering.
Ideal Candidate
* The successful applicant will have proven expertise in yeast display (or alternate display systems) and antibody library design and construction, including naïve, immunized, and/or engineered for affinity matured. Additional hands on experience with antibody cloning from B-cells and hybridomas, FACS, automation, Octet (or other biochemical methods of affinity measurement), and developability assays is highly preferred. Familiarity with yeast handling, LIMS, and NGS analysis of libraries is a plus. * A track record of managing junior researchers in an industry setting is required. Experience leading discovery research program teams or technology development programs in a matrix environment is preferred. * Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong lab skills, a proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, and a strong publication record are required. * Education The candidate will have a Ph.D. in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology or a related field, with at least eight years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry setting focused on therapeutic antibody development.
