Maintenance Assistant Technician

As the Maintenance Technician Assistant you would have a vital role in the community and maintenance staff. You would be responsible for assisting in the overall maintenance operations of the community to support our vision of maintaining the appearance and preservation of our properties.

* Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of the internal and external customer. * Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner. * Follows and maintains the preventative maintenance programs and schedules established within the company * Reviews daily work order priorities with the Maintenance Technician Supervisor at the beginning and end of each day. * Supports Maintenance Technician Supervisor with day-to-day employee and operational needs. * Performs routine maintenance tasks, minor maintenance requests, routine preventative maintenance, and repairs as needed to all common areas and units. * Shares on-call responsibility with the Maintenance Technician Supervisor and Make Ready. Responds to resident service requests within 24 hours. * Inspects vacated apartments and informs the Maintenance Technician Supervisor and Property Manager by completing a Make-Ready Checklist of needed services and repairs. * Diagnoses and repairs HVAC related issues. * Physically walks and inspects community on a daily basis proposing upgrades and addressing corrective issues. * Responsible for the upkeep of all property-issued tools. * Maintains a clean and safe work environment. * Operates as acting Maintenance Technician Supervisor in the absence of the Maintenance Technician Supervisor. * Other duties as assigned.

* 18 years of age or older * High School or GED (General Education Diploma) preferred * A minimum of one (1) or more years of maintenance experience is required * A valid driver’s license may be required * Required to provide own (basic) hand tools * Must be knowledgeable in plumbing, electrical, paint/drywall and appliance repair * Previous HVAC experience preferred; HVAC certification is required * Ability to work an on-call schedule as required to meet the needs of the property * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize work functions * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Knowledge of building maintenance and repair * Ability to learn and institute BH and industry standards * A positive, team-oriented attitude * Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers
