Summary
Benore Logistics Systems, Inc, a logistics provider servicing fortune 500 companies, is seeking a Sr. Dispatcher (with supervisor responsibilities). This position is responsible to ensure proper fleet management of assigned drivers and fleet by leveraging the appropriate dispatch process. The Sr. Dispatcher will work under the direction of the Transportation Operations Manager or Designee to efficiently manage the operations, safety and driver retention. The position requires professional communications, computer and presentation skills. Position represents the company in a positive image with employees, customers and the community always performing in a safe and ethical manner.
Responsibilities
* Manage the daily dispatch functions for all drivers assigned to the fleet. Maintain expert level knowledge of all process and procedures required to execute assigned tasks. * Manages their team to achieve expected gross margin targets. * Communicates service short falls to the Operations Manager on duty. * Facilitate collaboration with the safety and compliance, recruiting and human resources to exceed driver retention and safety targets. * Responsible for accountability of assigned drivers as it relates to DOT compliance, operations, equipment usage, company policies and discipline. * Responsible for achieving the targets for Key Production Indicators (KPI's), key network decisions including loaded miles, on-time service, utilization, scan, deadhead, dwell targets, TMW accuracy and fuel efficiency. * Works with Operations Manager, Logistics Engineering, Load Planning, On-Site and Operations Coordinators to execute network driver capacity plans. Eliminate long-term and short-term imbalances and ensure customer service commitments are met. * Possess and demonstrate proficiency in the use of TMW, Peoplenet, PC Miler, Inventory in Motion (IIM), Time Clock Management (TCM) and SSRS reporting. * Develop and implement decision matrices based on key network activities. Ensure all Logistics Engineers, Load Planning, On-site, Operations Coordinators, Safety and Compliance have a thorough understanding of those activities and their impact to established company targets. * Maintain adept knowledge in the trucking industry on Department of Transportation (DOT) and C-TPAT regulations, seasonality, driver capacity and demographics trends. * Manage to operation standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality and safety to ensure on-time pick-ups and delivery. * Manage fleet to meet/exceed expected Gross Margin and service targets. * Accountable to meet or exceed driver performance, retention and safety targets.
Ideal Candidate
* High school diploma is required * Associate's or Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field is preferred * Five years experience in management and five years transportation is required.
