Summary
The Senior Product Manager acts as the organizational business leader for the functional product capability for their domain and is responsible for functional product definition, health and driving profitability of the product. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, prioritization and grooming of the product backlog, design oversight to ensure alignment to vision and leading cross functional teams including Product Ownership, User Experience, Quality Assurance and Engineering to drive the execute the product backlog. The Senior Product Manager’s job also includes consultation and oversight with the Customer Development organization to ensure alignment with product direction where necessary.
Responsibilities
* Maintain clear product definition * Ensure product health across key metrics including quality, scalability, performance, and security * Coordination with Product Portfolio Managers for management and grooming of the backlog * Provide design coordination and oversight to ensure cohesion with the technology product vision * Conduct and support buy, build, partner evaluations * Collaborate with Marketing to develop the positioning and messaging for the market * Support development of pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals * Participate in cross functional team of Sales, Marketing, and Product to develop sales tools and collateral * Provide mentorship and support in the development of Associate Product Managers
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 5 years experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager * Minimum of 7 years of software product or support experience * Demonstrated success defining and launching consumer-centric products * Knowledge of consumer trends and choice architecture concepts with benefits enrollment or healthcare is preferred * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) * Technical background, with experience in managing SaaS solutions * Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority * Must be able to travel 20% of the time * Examples and at least one sample of an effective document delivered in the past
