Summary
Belcan’s Validation Test group in Palm Beach Gardens, FL is seeking a creative, motivated, energetic, hands-on Flight Test Engineer to support activities associated with engine assembly/disassembly, instrumentation, test and teardown operations on Commercial Jet Engines at our Wichita, KS job location. As a Flight Test Engineer, you will have a high degree of interaction with highly skilled technicians, managers, and other engineers. Candidate(s) will be expected to generate innovative solutions to complex Engineering issues. The successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to become part of a highly talented and diverse organization that includes multiple disciplines within test engineering.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical direction and continuous task coordination for Pre/Post Flight test operations * Provide cross functional team leadership * Provide innovative engineering solutions at flight test, in a dynamic & challenging environment while working with minimum supervision * Troubleshoot Flight test vehicle production related issues * Work in a team environment to asses static & rotating hardware integrity and use borescope to record data * Interact with Technicians, Quality Engineering, Integrated Product Teams, Test Management, and Material Procurement personnel to generate engineering solutions to complex problems
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferable * Accepting 2+ years of experience * Periodic travel (up to 10%) to offsite test locations * Familiar with turbine engine hardware, assembly/disassembly and knowledge of engine performance and test data analysis is required * Must be an enthusiastic self-starter that is dependable with proven engineering skills & aptitude to determine the tasks required and follows through with little direction to achieve a significant goal * Must be able to take initiative, provide quick insight to engineering issues while working in a sometimes high pressure environment * Flexibility to adapt to changing customer requirements, priorities, and schedules * Shift work + rotational weekend work required * Due to the nature of the work being done all applicants must be U. S. Citizens.
