Summary
Belcan is currently conducting a search for a Controls Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience and/or knowledge of motion control components and controls, machinery and factory automation equipment. This would include the ability to understand equipment integration and machine builders.
Responsibilities
* Interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements (e.g. SolidWorks) * Help establish new and maintain existing standards. * Power up electrical systems and configure hardware per customer specification and orders. * Work with Sales Engineers to provide input with quote preparation as required. * Attend trade shows as needed. * Provide high quality pre-sales, design-in and post-sales technical support to customer. * Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. * Work closely with German counterpart to assist in development of software. * Create standard operating procedures to achieve efficient processes relating to testing product, customer support, internal processes, etc. * Learn and support third party products used in conjunction with legacy product * Troubleshoot issues with existing customer installed systems. * Provide technical support to customers. * Provide on-site install and/or service support to customers.
Ideal Candidate
* A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar related degree). * 3-5 years related job experience. * Willing to travel up to 25% * Proficient with MS Office, Allen Bradley RSLogix, AutoCAD Electrical * Preferred B&R, Siemens, Bosch, Omron familiarity. * Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs. * Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals. * Aggressive personality and can do attitude is a must. * A general knowledge of machine tool types, their function and typical machining process. * Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments. * Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment. * Ability to multi-task with a variety of projects
