Receives technical and management guidance from the Contract Manager or assigned Subcontract Administration Supervisor. Reports to the Contracts Manager.
* Administers assigned subcontracts, maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties. * Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, subcontract administration and other major matters. * Represents Bechtel in contractual discussions of moderate complexity. * Responsible for the development and management of appropriate mechanisms to monitor compliance with (sub)contract terms and conditions. * Responsible for working with the other Project Team members to ensure that Bechtel or customer related actions or inactions which could result in constructive (sub)contract changes are identified and make recommendations on their resolution.
Ideal Candidate
* Thorough knowledge of (sub)contract administration, home office and field procedures and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction project * Basic knowledge of contracting rules, policies and practices. * Specialized courses or experience in pricing, contract law, negotiations and accounting. * Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices and Bechtel policies, procedures and work practices. * Direct experience in the function of managing workload distribution and execution of the work * Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. * Experience in developing and recommending potential solutions to contractual problems to management.
