Summary
This position requires the ability to understand and interpret software quality principles, procedures and criteria while working closely with information systems technical experts. You will guide others in the understanding and implementation of quality principles and procedures. Working as a part of the WTP software quality team, plan and conduct independent work requiring discernment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of information systems techniques, procedures, and criteria to support the software quality program. Devise new approaches to problems encountered to provide solutions to the WTP customer and the DOE customer. Support discipline in the performance of complex and demanding assignments requiring initiative and independent recommendation. Provide advice and directives on matters relating to the interpretation and implementation of software quality requirements. Perform work that requires the application of a significant range of fundamental principles in a variety of contexts. Demonstrate a systematic, focused, and analytical approach to problem solving.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes Software quality requirements and evaluates work processes. - Supports external audit of WTP software quality program. - Serves as SME for software on audit of WTP suppliers. - Analyzes user requirements and evaluates work processes. - Provides technical direction, development, training, and mentoring of subordinate team members or to WTP staff assigned to implement the program. - Arranges, prepares, and conducts meetings, workshops and presentations as required. - Analyzes existing software applications in accordance with the Project's software quality program, enterprise and application architecture, and the Software Development Standards. - Reviews test strategy, test procedure, and test plan for project developed and acquired software applications and configures project unique testing defect tracking work flows. - Reviews software development and documentation required by project for content and accuracy . - Evaluates and recommends new automated testing software, client/server software and test lab hardware to support infrastructure testing. - Assists in the development and delivery of software quality training, including skills training for those who develop, acquire and test software. - Meets with end users to resolve program needs and assists in reviewing processes from origination to project completion, including conceptual design, functional specification, testing, and implementation . - Analyzes underlying issues arising from investigations into requirements and problems and identifies available options for consideration.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor Degree plus 6 years of progressive related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, 12 years of related IT or relevant quality assurance/quality control experience. **Minimum Qualifications** - Be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check which includes verification of employment and education. - Be able to obtain a DOE badge for access to Project Site. - Experience with software quality programs that conform to consensus standards, such as NQA-1, ISO, or other recognized software quality/software engineering standards. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship. - Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and processes including Software Development Methodology Framework, source code control, application development tools and techniques, database design, development and management, programming languages, and component integration. - Understanding and practical experience with ASME NOA-1. - Knowledge of and experience with control systems or plant management systems. - Practical experience writing and reviewing work procedures. - Ability to partner with customers. - Ability to review and understand end-to-end work processes. - Ability to organize and deliver presentations or documents to clearly communicate information to others. - Ability to identify and present information or data that will have a strong effect on others. - Skill in working with customers to understand their requirements and expectations by asking questions and listening.
