Summary
Beatport is seeking a collaborative Product/UX Designer that will work alongside our engineers, product managers and fellow designers to create an awesome experience for our users – the people who create electronic music, and the fans who love it. Your creativity and energy will help to define and refine the way people use Beatport and connect to the music they love. By creating solutions to our most complex user experience and design issues you will ensure that Beatport users leave happy and return often. We need someone who is serious about design, has a strong product sense and a passion for building things that are both beautiful and functional, and brings a demonstrated ability to translate consumer needs into product improvements. This person will be a creative problem solver that enjoys breaking things, identifying the weakness and fixing them. Responsibilities
* Creating the best Beatport web and mobile experience possible * Identifying issues and designing creative solutions and new experiences for our users * Creating specs and wireframes, developing effective storyboards, mockups, and prototypes * Working with your feature team to develop and establish user-centric, interactive visual designs * Contributing to and maintaining our style guide * Partnering with the analytics team to analyze data and drive product improvements * Keeping current on design trends and usability standards and actively educate the team on current best practices and cutting edge design * Listening to a lot of music
Ideal Candidate
* 5+ years UX / Product Design experience with a portfolio, preferably in a consumer-facing company * Solid understanding of HTML/CSS. Understanding of native platforms (iOS/Android) a bonus. * Experience in at least one of the following: Adobe Creative Suite, any wireframing tools * Some experience with usability testing / heuristic evaluations / user tests, interviews * Ability and willingness to travel periodically to various locations for industry/customer events * A passion for music; if you are a DJ or Producer we want you to bring that knowledge with you and apply it to our products
