Manager of Technical Accounting and External Reporting

• Our client, a pharmaceutical firm, is searching for a Manager of Technical Accounting and External Reporting to join their team. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: assist in the monthly close process, quarterly, and annual accounting close process; assist in the development and maintenance of accounting models for revenue recognition; reconciling, monitoring and ensuring accuracy of certain trial balance accounts in compliance with GAAP; draft technical memoranda to analyze accounting and reporting effects and present a strategy on proposed transactions or on new accounting pronouncements; prepare relevant SEC filings while working with internal and external constituents; and develop process improvements, internal controls and best practices.

• The ideal candidate will have: 4-6 years of experience; must be either public and private or straight from public accounting - Biotech/Life Science industry expertise a plus
• CPA required; advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• must have previous SEC reporting and Sarbanes Oxley experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and experience with Oracle a plus.
