TECHNICIAN I, PATIENT CARE (Outpatient Services)

Central and Southern Delaware’s largest health care system, Bayhealth is comprised of Kent General and Milford Memorial hospitals, the freestanding Emergency Department in Smyrna as well as numerous satellite facilities and employed physician practices encompassing a variety of specialties.

The Patient Care Technician 1 (PCT 1) in Outpatient Services is responsible for a wide variety of technical and clerical procedures.

A Patient Care Technician I has frequent direct patient contact when performing phlebotomy, specimen collection and specimen transport. Utilizes computers for patients specimen ordering, accessioning and general data entry.vy.

Must be a graduate from technical program for phlebotomy, EKG, medical assistant, patient care technician or certified nursing assistant. Will also accept current Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) students. Must have training in Phlebotomy. Must have basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
