Food Service Associate

Central and Southern Delaware’s largest health care system, Bayhealth is comprised of Kent General and Milford Memorial hospitals, the freestanding Emergency Department in Smyrna as well as numerous satellite facilities and employed physician practices encompassing a variety of specialties.

The Food Service Associate performs a variety of routine duties related to the preparation and serving of food to customers.

Employees are expected to maintain high level of departmental sanitation including dishwashing, pot-washing, and cleaning according to policies and procedures. May be required to operate cash register and assist with catering services.

Education: High School Diploma/GED required.

Experience: Must have some knowledge of food service operations. Must have demonstrated work history.

Prior cash handling experience required for front of house retail operations only (not required for back of house operations).

Preferred: Prior food service experience in preparing or packaging food and/or serving food products, prior cash handling as well as a history of working with the public preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong customer service skills, basic computer literacy, food safety training, HACCP training and proper hand washing skills. Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
