Group employed model (GEM) of physicians, providers, ancillary team members, hospitals and health centers serving patients across eight counties.

Responsibilities

The PACS Administrator oversees the operation, security, maintenance and support of the PACS, RIS, Powerscribe dictation, cardiology applications, and other ancillary radiology systems. Maintains current and future radiology systems in working order. Ensures the proper use of the systems by the imaging staff. Assisting Clients/Physicians with decisions and workflow. Responsible for the support of third party applications that facilitate the workflow of the dependent. Acts as a liaison in digital imaging initiatives within the department and other departments. Works with ancillary departments to facilitate systems integration. Perform software product evaluations, analysis, and design for interdepartmental systems. Plan, coordinate and manage system implementations, upgrades and changes. Serves as the lead technical resource for enterprise imaging initiatives regarding the acquisition, installation, integration to PACS. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, QA checks, acceptance, image quality assessment and annual inspections to ensure the safety and standardization of the clinical radiology equipment used for patient care.

Ideal Candidate

Education/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree, currently licensed Radiologic Technologist (RT R) with an additional 2 years experience working with PACS/RIS will be considered
  • An Associate's degree with an additional 2 years of relevant experience will be considered

Experience:

  • 3 years experience in diagnostic imaging IT systems and imaging equipments in a medical imaging setting
  • Project coordination and technical leadership for implementation and maintenance of imaging systems and equipment
  • A minimum of 3 years management experience preferred
  • PACS, DICOM & HL7 experience required

Licensure/Certificates:

  • Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) preferred

Skills:

  • Exceptional computer software and systems skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, both verbally and in writing
  • The ability to work with others within the radiology departments to enhance the various radiology systems to improve patient care and imaging department workflows
  • Proven analytical ability
  • Need a well-organized and systematic thinker in work process
  • Knowledge of diagnostic imaging processes and terminology
  • Self motivated independent and possess the ability to learn quickly and efficiently

Physical Requirements:

  • Available during non-working hours
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Intermittent use of computers that may require long periods of staring at a computer monitor
