Responsibilities
BASF is seeking a Project and Instrumentation Engineer for our Wet End Paper Chemical division. This person will be working remotely, however, candidates in Charlotte, NC are particularly well located in relation to travel., BASF’s Wet End Paper Chemicals business unit designs, installs, and services equipment used to supply BASF products into our Customer’s paper making applications. With the significant growth in one of our product families, the workload has grown such that we require additional resources. The primary product focus for this role requires significant engineering creativity and strong customer communication skills as installations vary from customer location to location. Primary Areas of Responsibility Include: * Project Mgmt * Training * Programming * Documentation/Records * Root Cause Analysis * Safety
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Mechanical or Electrical preferred. - Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. - Working knowledge of PLCs. Ladder Logic, HMIs, and PCs required. - Good written and verbal communications skills. - Knowledge of the operation, programming, and function of Programmable Logic Controllers and Personal Computers. - Must be able to work well under pressure. - Must be knowledgeable of rotating machinery. Knowledge of electrical and electronic control systems. - Travel 40-70%. Willingness to travel regionally (Primarily US, potential for trips to Canada & Mexico) - Self-starter able to work alone or in a team environment.

Working Conditions

This position requires extensive travel (up to 75%) by air and car throughout the continental US and other countries.
