Responsibilities
- Active member of the Executive Leadership Team for the Regional Business Unit (RBU) helping to create communications objectives, strategies and plans; includes recommendation of communications tactics to deliver optimal visibility of strategic messages to employees, key customers and decision-makers. - Lead a team of Communication professionals within the RBU with solid and dotted line responsibility. Working with individual business segments and regions, coordinating the development and production of various integrated media used in the promotion of Corporate strategy and communications, products, systems and programs. - Manage project costs to budget. - Active member of EB global communications, serving as point of contact for Communications in the Americas, developing and implementing tactics and shaping strategies for the Division. - Active member of North American Communications Leadership Team, developing and implementing tactics and shaping strategies for the Region. Support brand management of BASF Corporate brand. - Research, develop, execute and measure marketing communications including advertising, public relations, internet, direct marketing and other vehicles. - Manage, plan and coordinate customer event management (coordinate with BASF Trade Shows and Events when applicable).
Ideal Candidate
- BA or BS degree in marketing, communications or related field and minimum 8 years of experience in marketing communications with 3 years or experience leading people or teams. - Demonstrated ability to write news releases/brochures, to interact effectively with the media and to create effective advertising. - Proven knowledge of or demonstrated ability to quickly learn, the Business Units. - Experience in managing outside agencies and vendors - Exceptional written, verbal, analytic and presentation skills - Strong project management skills; a self-starter with ability to establish and meet deadlines, to work effectively under pressure and to handle a heavy workload - Leadership through ownership/responsibility for core tasks, results and deadline orientation - Cost control/budget management - Source of new initiatives (including technology based); advocate for creative solutions - Continuous improvement focus - A team player with a personal reputation for integrity and "above reproach" ethics. - Successful interaction with all levels of management, customers, suppliers, and media.
