Responsibilities
* Under limited supervision, investigates and procures all data required to develop designs. * Prepares preliminary sketches and/or schematic diagrams. * Performs moderate to complex computer aided designs with emphasis on functionality, manufacturing and maintainability. * Prepares designs having distinctive design features that can differ significantly from established drafting precedents. * Employs the best combination of all preliminary information and contributing data to develop final design. * Prepares layout, design and assembly drawings. * Learns current manufacturing/business systems for basic cost, inventory and purchasing information. * Handles special projects, as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:** * High School Diploma or GED. * 3+ years of drafting experience. * Proficiency with SolidWorks (modeling, drawings and assemblies) * Experienced draftsperson able to perform non-routine and complex items having distinctive design features that can differ significantly from established drafting precedents. * Ability to apply thorough knowledge of engineering and drafting standards, codes and regulations affecting particular disciplines or drafting projects assigned. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:** * Associate's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred. * Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standards. * Design experience with downhole equipment, preferably with downhole drilling tools.
