Responsibilities
- This structural engineer position is responsible for the design, management, and coordination of a large variety of commercial building projects from project inception through construction. - The engineer will be responsible for the structural analysis, preparing the plans and specifications, reviewing submittals, and resolving construction issues. - While working directly with the project team’s other professionals, the engineer will be the project lead responsible for delivering the structural design to the client on time and within budget. - The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual, and an independent problem-solver with excellent communication skills. - This is a great opportunity for the individual interested in advancing his or her career.
Ideal Candidate
- 4-7 years’ experience in the structural engineering of commercial buildings with a strong knowledge of national and local building codes, design practices, and standard construction practices. - Minimum requirements are a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures. - A Masters in Engineering is preferred. - A Professional Engineer’s (PE) license is preferred. Non-licensed applicants will be considered must licensure is required within first year of employment. - Experience in the structural analysis and design of mid to high-rise buildings using the RAM Structural System (RAMSS), or similar design software. - Proven experience in the design of the following building systems: steel and concrete framing, load-bearing masonry, tilt-up concrete walls, and wood-framed structures. - Candidates must have ability to use AutoCAD 2010 or higher; experience in Revit 2014 or higher is a plus. - Possess a strong work ethic with attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines. - Work as a team player and interact well with architects, contractors and other engineers. - Ability to work under minimal supervision and resolve issues independently. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Ability to work overtime when required. - Candidates should provide a detailed project history during the interview.
