Bailard is seeking an Analyst to join its fund. The Analyst will have a leading role in the property-level analytical activities for the fund’s investments. The position will provide analytical support to both the acquisitions and asset management disciplines, across all property types and throughout the country. The role’s duties include, but are not limited to, underwriting new investments, quarterly valuations on existing investments, and assisting in the annual budget process.
The real estate team is eager to find a candidate who is looking to join a small but growing team and excited to work closely with experienced real estate team members at a dynamic platform. The ability to adapt quickly, remain flexible and manage multiple deadlines is critical as the position’s duties will vary depending on the time of the quarter, transaction volume and asset management needs. The position reports to Investment Manager- Real Estate.
- Conducting financial analysis for potential acquisition opportunities, including creating and amending Argus models and Excel discounted cash flow and waterfall models.
- Taking lead role in preparing and presenting quarterly valuations of existing assets.
- Performing financial analysis to support investment-level decisions including new leases, capital plans, financings and exit strategies.
- Performing market research for prospective investments to determine underwriting assumptions.
- Assisting in the preparation of internal investment memos for new acquisitions.
- Assisting in the due diligence process for new investments.
- Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and business plans of existing assets, including the preparation of hold/sell analyses.
- Assisting with recapitalizations and dispositions of existing investments
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate or related field
- 1-3 years of work experience in commercial real estate
- Strong proficiency in Excel with experience in discounted cash flow modeling and waterfall structures. Argus experience is a strong plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills. Detail oriented.
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Desire to work across real estate disciplines and learn all asset classes.
- Able to work independently but must enjoy collaborating with a small team.
- Local candidates preferred.
