Responsibilities
- B-Line Medical, a leader in healthcare simulation, is on the lookout for a brilliant C++ software engineer. You will be working alongside a small team of very capable software engineers, QA engineers and product managers to help develop and advance our video products and web-platform. Our platform is used by 7 out of the top 10 medical schools, and helps train more than 50% of all medical students in the country. If you know C++ inside and out, and enjoy low level programming, we’d love to have you on our team. - Our team culture can be described as creative, problem solving, and fun. We're engineering-driven from the top down, and we really believe in delivering the best product in our industry. - Our video products are a key part of our web platform. They allow customers to capture, encode, and stream high-resolution video from multiple video angles, synchronized with real-time data from medical devices. We support video using our own encoders, along with custom-built applications for devices such as Google Glass. These devices in real time transmit to our centralization server to be accessed through an elegant web interface. You’ll be working on these products along with the web platform.
Ideal Candidate
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent - 3+ years of C++ under Windows - Comfortable with inter-process communication and thread synchronization - Experience in socket programming, TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, packet capture using Wireshark or equivalent - A passion for code optimization and tinkering - Solid understanding of object-oriented programming - Good oral and written communication skills, and a desire to share knowledge and collaborate with others - Pluses: C++ 11, DirectShow, Video Encoding, Linux, Java (Android), iOS, RTMP, WebRTC, Web technologies, and H.264
