Embedded Engineering Manager

Axon's products protect life. Axon provides advanced Electronic Control Devices (ECDs) for use in the law enforcement, medical, military, corrections, professional security, and personal protection markets. Axon devices use proprietary technology to incapacitate dangerous, combative, or high-risk subjects who pose a risk to law enforcement officers, innocent citizens, or themselves in a manner that is generally recognized as a safer alternative to other uses of force.

As a manager here you leading Embedded Development Teams on the next generation Axon camera platforms. You will be leading full development lifecycle – analysis, design, development, testing and deployment for camera driver firmware, middleware, and application modules. Its important you have an excellent knowledge of embedded development, Real Time Operating Systems (vxworks is a plus) and stellar C programming skills. Great leadership and communication skills are pivotal.

**Basic Qualifications** * 8+ years experience in designing and developing software * 5+ years experience leading teams of Software Engineers * Shown ability to lead, recruit and grow a team of high capability individuals that build tools and systems that allow our business to scale * A vision of excellence for tools, processes, and systems * Significant programming experience in C#, Objective-C/Swift, C/C++, Java, Golang, Ruby or the like. * Experience developing, building, releasing, and maintaining large-scale software applications * Shown ability to be a role model and lead through example for engineers on the team * Strong ability in coaching and mentoring * Real passion for ensuring high-quality architecture and customer experience **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with distributed teams * Experience collaborating with hardware team and vendors to validate hardware, driver development, and end to end customer experience * B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics or equivalent experience
