(Grand Prairie, Texas)In 1958, Thurman Averitt founded Livingston Merchant's Co-op, a small trucking company that hauled dry goods mostly between Nashville, TN and Livingston, TN. In 1969, Thurman incorporated his small company and called it Averitt Express.
While making regular deliveries in Nashville, Thurman became acquainted with a young dockworker who helped him unload his trailer. This young man's name was Gary Sasser.
Dock associates manage the day-to-day loading and unloading of freight throughout our system. Dock associates carefully handle our customers' freight, utilizing modern equipment such as propane-powered forklifts and digital freight scanners.

- Prior dock/warehouse/forklift experience preferred
Nonessential functions:
- Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs
- 18 years of age
- No convictions for Reckless Driving within the past 5 years
- Valid Driver's License
- No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years
- No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years
