UI / UX Designer

Autotask Corporation develops professional services automation software that operates as a Web-based information technology (IT) services management software. Its software is designed to enable the management of professional services, such as managed services, break-fix, consulting engagements, system integration, networking projects, software implementations, service desk contracts, and scheduled maintenance.

Research and design user interfaces and backend logic for the company’s software products. Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and customers to strategically align user requirements for current and future software applications with business needs. Create detailed specifications for user interface designs to be used as reference material for the Product Management, Development, Quality Assurance, and Training teams.. Remain current on user interface design trends and suggest new tools and methods as necessary.

* Work with Product Management and Design Manager to identify and review fundamental project requirements. * Translate functional project requirements and use cases into elegant software solutions. * Create storyboards/prototypes illustrating product features and business workflows. * Document storyboards/prototypes with pertinent processing details and constraints. * Write detailed functional requirement specifications documents which will include * process flow, screenshots, information, business functions, logic, and revision history. * Formally present product designs to stake holders, making revisions as needed. * Work with Development and Quality Assurance teams to communicate desired goals of * the project and to answer questions. * Perform design reviews on completed code, making sure it adheres to standards defined * in the functional requirements specification.

* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university * Two (2) years of hands-on, proven software design experience designing human-centric products and services * Strong understanding of user experience design and technology trends * Strong visual sensibilities, ability to use visual thinking, storyboards, sketching, and communication design to create breakthrough interaction designs * Deep understanding of fundamental visual design disciplines * Meticulous sense of detail and ability to find simple solutions to complex challenges. * High proficiency using the Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs * Ability to work on multiple overlapping projects, independently with minimal supervision * Ability to apply judgment and make informed decisions * Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines
