Senior Database Administrator

Autotask Corporation develops professional services automation software that operates as a Web-based information technology (IT) services management software. Its software is designed to enable the management of professional services, such as managed services, break-fix, consulting engagements, system integration, networking projects, software implementations, service desk contracts, and scheduled maintenance.

As a senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing database usage through performance tuning and design. Working as part of a team of 6-7 experienced DBAs, you will support 6,000+ databases with 99.99% to 99.999% availability on 4 high volume Microsoft SQL Server Clusters. Proactive planning, tuning, troubleshooting, and providing guidance to developers are each needed to achieve this.

• Query/index analysis, tuning, and optimization
• Regularly recommend indexes to be added and removed
• Disaster recovery, planning & testing
• Review of developer DDL/DML scripts at design-time
• Development of standards and best practices
• Ensure configuration and team's methodology conforms to best practices
• Participate in a weekly after-hours on-call rotation
• Monitor and trend database performance and space allocation
• Work with DBA team to evaluate and plan for new technologies (SQL Server upgrades, 3rd party tools, etc.)

• 5-10 years experience in SQL Server database administration and/or development
• Proven track record optimizing, tuning, and managing query, database, instance, and server performance
