Autodesk is in the middle of a significant transformation from a Desktop Software Company to Cloud Software Company and is making significant investments to change business processes and modernize the back office. As part of this effort, Autodesk is seeking a talented Solution Architect. In this role, you will get an opportunity to contribute to the success of Autodesk’s investments.
As a member of the Enterprise Business Systems leadership team, in Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), you will play a critical and influential role with Business Stakeholders and Technical teams to:
- Drive the solution design and direction of key initiatives in the Enterprise Applications space
- Provide technical leadership and guidance from inception (discovery) and throughout the software development lifecycle
- Influence the scope and approach to deliver the business capabilities required to achieve company objectives
- Directly engage and collaborate with teams such as: Enterprise Architecture, Applications Development and Dev Operations to identify new technologies, architectures, solutions and processes to meet future business needs
- Provide oversight throughout the entire development / testing / migration process to ensure solutions developed are in-line with the solution design and direction
- Evaluate, understand and review existing system landscape and propose future and forward looking long-term solution architecture
- Serve as a technical and solution-oriented leader in any discussions with the business owners and executive sponsors
- Balance business requirements with technical feasibility and set expectations on new projects.
- Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards
- Work with other technical team members to establish, maintain, build and release standards
- Take the lead to incorporate industry best practices and important developments into our products
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with Business Management (or related field) or equivalent work experience required.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in an enterprise environment, including several years of experience in designing and developing solutions using at least two of the technologies: SAP, Salesforce, JAVA, RUBY
- Experience in designing robust, scalable, highly-available solutions
- Exposure to cloud based applications using platform-as-a-service providers such as Amazon Web Services or other platforms
- Knowledge of high tech industry business scenarios
- Capable of developing transitional architectures that lead to an ultimate future state
- Experience and demonstrated ability in managing multiple architecture projects simultaneously
- Action oriented. Strong Analytical, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills; experience in both process and solution analysis & design.
- Experience with ERP and Customer Relationship Management applications, preferably SAP, Siebel, Salesforce, and other frontend consuming technologies with middleware
- Being able to articulate and communicate in both written and oral forms to various types of audiences (developers to managers to business owners)
- Mature directness to communicate honest opinions on technology, process, and approach--putting in efforts to improve them
- Maturity and ability to work independently in a dynamic project environment with aggressive deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of Agile, SCRUM, Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) methodology and process
