Summary
We’re looking for a senior Linux network engineer to join our talented network engineers in San Francisco/ San Rafael to solution design and automate Autodesk global network to position Autodesk as a key player in the cloud & IoT era. Reporting to the senior manager of Network-as-a-Service, the Senior Linux Network Engineer will work closely with the Network, Cloud, Security, Collaboration, Iaas, and software engineering teams to ensure Autodesk network are secure, highly available, and scalable to support Autodesk's growing and dynamic SaaS, Cloud, and IoT services. The Senior Linux Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, automating and transforming our Software Defined Network systems. He/She must have superior Linux, scripting, integration & virtualization hands-on experience & knowledge in managing, troubleshooting and implementing large enterprise & cloud environments.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with network, infrastructure, and software engineers to design and deliver solutions with high uptime in a global network environment. * Create design, specification, and configuration standards for enterprise & cloud networks. * Drive self-healing, automation, and integration solutions in the new SDN world involving Private, Public & Hybrid cloud networks. * Participate in failure, load and performance tests to ensure solutions are production ready. * Incident resolution and root cause analysis of critical outages. * Implement solutions to systematic failures. * Stay current with technological changes in latest automation software, API, and tools. * Provide strategic direction, coaching/mentoring to the Engineering teams.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and automation skills. * 8+ years delivering and managing global infrastructure/network solutions. * Solid scripting & integration skills using API/Perl/Python/Puppet/Chefs. * Solid understanding of network & application workflow. * Strong verbal and written communication skills and technical writing skills. * Proven ability to lead and manage change. * Proven ability to work with Open Source Tools. * Advanced interpersonal skills to effectively promote ideas, collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders to reach decisions. * Strong passion and experience in delivering high-performance.
