Responsibilities

The full-stack engineer will write well-documented and maintainable Python, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS code in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include maintaining and improving our custom content management system and web platform, and adding and deploying new features to our two websites: TheAtlantic.com and CityLab.com.

Ideal Candidate
  • Ability to define and communicate a technical vision, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with the Django web framework
  • Ability to translate a design into a working website using HTML5 and CSS3
  • Experience writing complex high performance Python powered websites
  • Experience with GIT version control
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational database design and optimization
  • Comfortable using Linux / Unix command line
  • Strong attention to detail while implementing technical specifications
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
