Summary
The Operations Software Integration Engineer (OSIE) is responsible for keeping critical production service applications and infrastructure running and meeting appropriate service levels. The OSIE will participate on the DevOps team to make design and reliability trade-offs in running large-scale services and engineering complex systems that "just run" transparently to both end users and operators.
Responsibilities
* Drive foundational platform capabilities needed to enable operational functions. * Use development skills in conjunction with a breadth of technical skills to suggest/guide long term solutions. * Troubleshoot deployment issues in production environments. * Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand operational requirements for production environments. * Dive deep into application interdependencies. * Facilitate improvements to our application deployment process. * Work in a DevOps methodology with engineers/developers to prototype and implement capabilities that reduce operational expense. * Respond to and resolve emergent service problems; build automation to prevent problem recurrence. * Service performance analysis and system tuning. * Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services and systems. * Solve problems relating to mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions. * Conduct periodic on call duties in support of 24/7/365 operations.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum qualifications** * B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience. * 5+ years in the area of operations, systems engineering, integration, and test. * 5+ years working with Linux, databases/SQL, web applications, and mobile platforms. * Automation / scripting experience. * Understand the complete software development lifecycle from design, build, test, deploy. * Proven ability to analyze, debug and troubleshoot the root cause of applications’ issues. * An enthusiastic attitude to support and resolve problems. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of the organization. * Able to lead meetings and effectively summarize and prioritize topics. * Ability to clearly write technical documents. * Excellent multitasking and time management skills with consistent attention to detail. * Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure, constantly changing environment. **Preferred qualifications** * Maven, Git, Spring Boot, AngularJS expertise. * Experience with Amazon Web Services. * DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Ansible, Vagrant, Terraform, Docker. * SDN, VNF, Openstack, Policy Architecture and design. * Cloud technologies and Virtual Network Function (vNF) management. * JIRA, AgileCraft.
