Summary
An integration architect designs the way to connect IT systems together and expose them to clients in order to increase reuse and value derived from internal IT resources. In addition, the integration architect works to further develop processes and tools to facilitate execution of the integration strategy.
Responsibilities
* Interviewing business users and business analysts to understand the use cases that the integration solution must support. * Working with solutions and enterprise architects to choose a reference architecture or integration style to meet the needs of each project — for example, bulk file transfer, data federation, message-oriented movement and real-time APIs. * Designing integration solutions that fit within the enterprise's larger data integration strategy or initiative, including recommending integration tools. * Interacting with internal IT teams that own API components to meet requirements for volume and performance. * Working with clients of APIs to ensure the integration solution meets data delivery and quality SLAs. * Identifying relevant APIs or other internal IT resource. * Helping to choose the right integration tools. * Set guidance around integration approaches and coach other members of the organization around proper adoptance. * Monitors industry norms and progression with new technologies to assist with aligning integration strategy. * Conduct proof of concepts related to integration technologies. * Expected to provide technical leadership on project efforts with temporarily assigned team of non-direct report staff members. Also expected to coach other developers in the organization.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** * 5 years of experience in integration or application development with a strong focus on public or private API development. **Other Requirements** * Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments. * Ability to handle multiple tasks; Problem solving; Creative thinking, developing and acting on ideas. * Ability to balance the long-term and short-term implications of individual decisions. * Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies. * Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills in order to communicate to peers, management, and business unit staff * Knowledge of IT systems technology developments and trends. * Broad knowledge in technology products. * Understanding of architectural principles and integration styles. * Understanding of API design. * Expertise in integration tools. * Proven ability to own and execute complex deliverables * Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and planning skills * A proactive and results oriented personality * Self motivated desire to learn * Able to effectively communicate to both non technical stakeholders and technical team members * Proficient with .Net * Experience participating in a diverse team setting **Preferred Skills** * Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field
